Researching the surnames: Jefferson, Ross, Portwood, Tannahill, Ogletree,Ray Would appreciate any and all leads on any of the above lines. All the above families came from Mississippi to Tarrant County abt. 1857-1861. The Jefferson, Portwood,Ogletree and Ray lines came from Carroll County and the Ross, Tannahill lines came from Itawamba County. I have noticed a distinct pattern of names from the Carroll County, Mississippi area to Tarrant County. Would like to hear from others who lines came from Carroll County, Miss. Thanks to Rob and all who are working so hard to make the Tarrant County Page such a great place to find information.
