Does anyone have information on the original marriage licenses for the period including 1878? Somewhere I believe I read, or heard, that they had been turned over to a Genealogical Society in Fort Worth. I have a copy of the license for my ancestor, Thomas Kirkpatrick married to Mary L. King on November 7, 1878. This is recorded in the first surviving marriage book in Fort Worth. I have found that the family did not normally pick up the original copies and I would, of course, love to have it if possible. If anyone knows who I could contact, or any general information about the situation, please contact me privately, or through the list.
