    3. I have an interesting situation that some of you might have run into. My cousin sent me a copy of both my grandparents birth certificate. At the time of their death they both lived in Fort Worth. When my grandfather died evidently my grandmother needed a copy of her birth certificate and a copy of his. So, the copy of these certificates that I have are ones that were "created" in Fort Worth, Tarrant County. My grandmother (according to her and all other information I have) was born in Michigan and my grandfather was born in Louisiana and each "Certified Copy of Certificate of Birth, State of Texas" show these different states on each of their certificates as their Place of Birth. One was born 1883 and one 1878 but both "created" birth certificates have 1883 and a lot of other misinformation. I had previously ordered a birth certificate from Michigan on my grandmother but I received a response back saying that there wasn't one filed. I don't think Louisiana was keeping birth certificates in 1883 where my grandfather was born. So, my question is this. How can they be born in other states and get "created" birth certificates from Texas. I know it was done for my grandmother to get my grandfather's SS in 1952 but wondered if anyone else has dealt with this situation. I was wondering if anyone knew what backup information they would have needed to get these created. I was a bit taken back, as you might imagine, when I received these copies. There are certificate numbers on them. My grandparents were Charles and Kittie Cornett Would appreciate any light on this. Pat
