I am looking for Rachel (Rachael?) Arwine and John R. Hackney. Have not been able to confirm much about them. John R. was my ggg gf and died in 1872 in Bedford, IN. I have papers confirming that. I believe John and Rachel were married in Campbell Co. TN around 1817. I think that Rachel was the daughter of John Arwine Jr. and Eva Gooden and was born in Grainger Co. TN around 1800. The Arwine tree on the familytreemaker web site shows John Arwine Jr. and Eva Gooden only having 4 children, none or which is Rachel but a family member has contacted me and says he believes that there were really 8 children. John R. and Rachel show up in the 1850 Brown Co. IN census and John remarrys in 1854 and Rachel just seems to disappear. She probably died but she may have received a divorce. I can't find any confirmation of either. Rachel's brother and other family members including her two sons, Benjamin and James, migrated to Tarrant Co. TX in later years. I know that there is an A! ! RWINE cemetery in Tarrant Co. but I don't believe Rachel is buried there nor is there any confirmation that Benjamine and James were her sons on their gravestones. John R. Hackney shows up in the 1850 Brown Co. IN census and it says that he was from TN. He later ends up in Lawrence Co IN which is where he died. His second marriage was to Mary Jane Elisabeth Rogers on 12/1/1854 in Brown Co. I know there were alot of Hackneys in TN about the time that John was born, probably around 1800. There were alot of John Hackneys around at that time but everything I find on him, he has attached his middle initial. I would also like help in finding his parentage. Thanks for any help. Ken Hackney
