Would like to contact descendants of James N Gray. He left Limestone Co AL to follow his sister Nancy Melinda & brother in law Samuel Stewart to the Republic of Texas. They settled at Daingerfield, Red River Co now Morris Co TX where James patented 320 ac of land because he was a single man. He took part of the land in town lots. Gray & Stewart served as Texas Rangers in 1841 in Capt J D Lilley's Special Forces. When Stewart died in 1850, Gray was the administrator. As soon as the estate was settled, he moved from then Titus Co, selling his land by posting a title bond. The bond failed and Gray made it good, signing a document with his wife Treawick when they stated their residence was Tarrant Co TX. Weatherford also signed with them, relationship unknown.
