    1. Precinct Map
    2. JPallMall
    3. I was wondering if anyone had or knows where I could locate a map of Tarrant County, showing how it was divided into the different precincts. I have had several people ask me on the lookups I do if such and such town was in this precinct. I would like to help them out but without a map I can't. Thanks so much for any help you can give. 1. SEWELL; ADAMS of ARK or Ala and TX
    2. April Kyle & Wm R. BLADH
    3. James SEWELL md widow __?__ __?__ ADAMS. I am seeking the wife of James SEWELL who was the mother of my John Q. ADAMS (b.1833 in Ala or ARK-d.1902 Sutton, TX). I know that James had a son James H. SEWELL (who was supposedly a 1/2 brother to my John Q. ADAMS) who was born in 1846 ARK-d. 1872 when he was killed by indians in Kimble Co., TX. James H. SEWELL and his wife Sarah GOSSETT had two children: Mary b. 1868 and James SEWELL b. 1871. Sarah remarried and had another family. I know that James SEWELL the eldest was living in Parker Co., TX in 1850's but I can't find him in any census records. Since I found a Logan Co., Ark Federal land record with James, John, Hugh, and Henry SEWELLS I was hoping there might be a connection to the James SEWELL in TX whose son was born in ARK. Does anyone have any information on any of these families? Any help would be appreciated!!!!!! 1. Tarrant Co Page Update !
    2. Jean Jones
    3. It's been 2 weeks since the last update and we've been fairly busy. We added 8 queries and 43 surnames. We saw 562 hits to the main page and 200 to the surname page. Our mail list is growing. A thought....About Surnames and the surname page. I believe it is easy to list those family surnames that you are researching in Tarrant Co. Maybe easier than creating a query....esp. for those of us who have been working on it a long time and while we are very interested in our family we don't have a burning question to post at this time. NOW...my request is this .... PLEASE ! submit your surnames once. I don't mean when you have a problem with the form...and accidently submit your entry more than once. I mean, don't come back in two weeks or a month and submit the same names again. PLEASE ! It's exactly the same work all over for me whether it's alread there or not. It won't get you more responses unlike a new query might. AND it tends to make me really grouch! :-) I don't mind legitimate work, but why should I do my part if you can't bother to look to see if you've submitted your names already? OK....grip over! Just had to get it off my mind. I hope every one has had a great St Patrick's Day and the Luck 'O the Irish today......and a little luck turning up answers to your research questions. Jean

    1. Need Tarrant County Look-up/advice
    2. Rob & Heather Williams
    3. Hi folks! Okay, here's my sob story. I am an impoverished college student with a wife and three kids. I can't afford to pay the high prices the state offices charge for official death certificates, so I must find alternative means of doing my genealogical research. Hence my message posted here. (Here come the violins) I am looking for any information on my great-grandmother, Francis (Fannie) WILLIAMS. Her maiden name was MILLER. She was married to Louis Rickman WILLIAMS 4 Sep 1894 in Moody, McLennan County, Texas. She died sometime after 1912 in Tarrant County, Texas, but we don't know when. I really need to get the vital information on her so I can know where to look for her roots. Family tradition says she was from Georgia and that her father's name was James MILLER and her mother's name was Sallie STEVENS. I've been unlucky in trying to get somebody to do a Tarrant County look-up for me. Any help or advice would surely be appreciated. I don't have much to give, but I can probably get my three kids to sing you a song during your dinner. :-) Regards, Robert -- \\\|/// \\ ~ ~ // ( @ @ ) ------- oOOo-(_)-oOOo--------------- Robert L. 1. Tarrant Page Update
    2. Jean Jones
    3. Hi Gang, I have updated the Tarrant Co. Page again and am pleased to announce that in the last 3 weeks we've had 695 hits to the main page and 215 visitors to the Surnames page. We added 71 new surnames and 15 new queries. AND that's not all we've added.......... We have a new Look Up Volunteer. Check the Resourse Page. http://bl-12.rootsweb.com/~txtarran/sources.htm Janis Wamsley has volunteered to do look ups for us in the List of Registered Voters of Tarrant Co in the Year 1867. With the 1860 census missing this is a very nice source. AND that's not all.... The Ford Cemetery has been reworked to add some inscriptions that weren't available when the page was originally created. AND still more....... Judy Matlock has given us the 1912, 1916 and 1920 Obits from the Arlington News and they are now available for your inspection. Judy has done a tremendous job abstracting these old newspapers for us. Thanks to everyone who makes the Tarrant Co. Page GREAT! Jean

    2. Christopher M Wylie
    3. Hi -- I saw Mary Trampe's name on the Tarrant Co Surname List. However, her e-mail was returned. Maybe she subscibes to this list. To anyone else related to the DAY/DRISKILL/SHARP/GRAY/PARKER and related families mentioned below (many buried at Parker Mem Cem in Grapevine) -- I would also love to hear from you ! Thanks, Chris. --------- Begin forwarded message ---------- From: cmylie To: MRT576@aol.com Subject: Driskill cousins Date: Sun, 1 Mar 1998 08:10:03 -0800 Message-ID: <19980301.081004.3358.0.cmylie@juno.com> Good Morning Mary -- Saw your list of surnames under Tarrant Co TX -- undoubtedly you and I are both related to the same Driskill family, one way or another and probably several! You seem to have all of Susana Hunt McDonald Gray Driskill's names, so I will assume you know something about her. Just so you know who I am -- My gr-gr-grandparents are Joseph Samuel Day and Mary Catherine Driskill, daughter of William Henry Driskill, son of John Driskill, son of Elias and Christina (Eaton) Driskill. Now, Joseph Samuel Day was also married to Mary Catherine's cousin, Luvisa Christina Driskill, and I believe Luvisa is more closely related to Susana's line of Driskills. Susana (however you spell it) has always kind of remained a mystery to the interested parties over on this side. I know she has had several husbands (3 or 4), but I've never quite figured out her relationship to the Parkers and/or the Hunts. According to a lot of accounts, she was Isaac Green Parker's sister (children of Susanna Robertson Parker). However I have also seen where she is a blood line Hunt. Since she had a son named Harrison Hunt Gray, by her marriage to Hiram Gray, I am likey to believe that she is a Hunt. What do you think/know? Now, here's another relationship -- Harrison Hunt Gray married Dora Sharp, half sister of Jospeh Samuel Day. The connection between all these relatives can be drawn every which way! Rather confusing if you ask me. I just printed up a whole long list of Driskill descendants, but can't seem to find it at the moment, so I will get back to you ... and soon.. I have a lot more info to share if interested, as soon as I find it. Would be interested to know how you are related and what info you can share. I am also in contact with several other Driskill relatives, so hopefully we can all get together on this! BTW--Several Day brothers married Driskill cousins/sisters!! So, it can get confusing! I'll look forward to hearing from you. 1. Jellico
    2. Anelle Kloski
    3. I was born at a little place which no longer exists: Jellico, near Smithfield TX. When I was there a few years ago, I took a picture of a sign there, and I just found the picture. I thought I would put this onto the web, for those who may not have seen the sign. It reads: Jellico. Robert Emmett Wilson came with his family during the 1880's and built a general store near this site. The name Jellico was chosen for the community when a post office was established in 1898. The town was named after a town in Tennessee from which some of the settlers had immigrated. By 1895, Jellico had a cotton gin, blacksmith shop, grist mill, syrup press, and school. The town began to decline when cotton prices fell in 1907. Wilson's General Store closed in 1912, and the school was consolidated into another district in 1917. Every time my mother mentioned that I was rally born at Jellico, not Smithfield, she laughed. When she first saw it in the 1930's, there was only a dipping vat there. Anelle McCarty Kloski

    3. Hi folks, I hesitate to ask you good people for help, because I am not in any way incapacitated. I can do most of my own look-ups, but I'm a full time college student pulling good grades here at Southern Oregon University. I try to sneak in a little genealogy here when I can, but trying to stay on the Dean's list makes it hard. I would like to know if there is a Newt and Annie HALL, husband and wife, listed on the 1900 and 1910 census for either Ellis or Tarrant Counties of Texas. I have no information on Newt and was hoping the census would open some doors for me as to where he and his parents were from. They should be listed with a daughter Eunice, born in 1891. Any help would be most appreciated. I'll owe you a steak dinner and dance at your wedding. Regards, Robert -- ------------------------------- Robert L.
