I don't know about with the Mac, but I was able to open the saved tiff file in a graphics program (but not in another one so you may have to experiment) and also in Word Perfect. In WP, I had to size it to the page but it printed out beautifully. Good luck, Jean

Good Evening, I hope each of you are enjoying success with your genealogy project. We have been busy on the Tarrant Co. Page. Since last reported we have had 878 hits on the main page. As you know, we added/joined the GenConnect Query System and the number of queries has increased. If you haven't had a chance to look it over, please drop by and see if you can find a cousin or help another researcher with their quest. Keep an eye on the "Reunions & Up Coming Events" area. You never know when something may be posted that you will want to attend. I want to thank each of you who have added to our Tarrant Co. site and by so doing to the process of helping us all discover more about our ancestors. Thank YOU! Jean

Hi Folks, I don't know if this request is too ambiguous. I would like to find somebody who has access to the obituary of my G-Grandmother who died May 1972 in the Mansfield/Ft. Worth area of Tarrant County, Texas. Her name was Frances WILLIAMS, and she was born 6 Sep 1876. This is pretty much all of the information I have. If anybody can help me, please let me know. I don't know the exact date, other than May of 1972. Regards, Robert -- \\\|/// \\ ~ ~ // ( @ @ ) ------- oOOo-(_)-oOOo--------------- Robert L. Announcement! Tarrant Co., TX has adopted the new USGenWeb QUERY SYSTEM for our queries and surnames. Each query entered into the new system will be indexed by the surnames you choose to enter as most important. Your query will be included in a nation wide search system which will allow for it's location to be found from our county site, through a state search, or even by a general search of the whole USA. The system is still new, and not all counties are online yet, but more are being added each day. What this means to you........... Your Queries and Surnames will have greater exposure and therefore a better chance of being of help to your research. Within Tarrant County ALL surnames - not just those entered as most important - will be included in any search from our page. For information on this project: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~usgwqury/qindex.html If you submitted a query or your Tarrant Co. surnames in the past, they are still there but are NOT being automatically moved to the new system. If you wish your query to be in the new system, please come by and post a new query. The old queries will probably be available for viewing until the end of the year but will eventually be removed as we move ahead with the new system. Visit: Http://www.rootsweb.com/~txtarran/query.htm And Enter the Query Forum Visit: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txtarran/surnames.htm For tips on entering your surnames in the new system I think you are going to like this new system. BTW, it will notify you if anyone responds to your query by posting to the board rather than sending you a personal email message. This is an option you select. Default is to notify you but you can cancel that if you do not wish to be notified. Enjoy, Jean
I am looking for any fellow reasearchers of these names in the Arlington, Mansfield, Johnson Station area. I have all but Cotter traced back at least to the 18th century, but would like to know of other descendants. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pam Stroud * Austin, Texas ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://tstroud.home.texas.net/
Hi, I would like to correspond with someone who is doing research on families of the west Fort Worth area, around Mary's Creek. This area includes North Benbrook. The surnames I am researching are: BOUVET, DIXON, DUNLAP, MOORE, AND BURSEY. However, I would like some information about the other families living around there as well. Thanks, Sarah Fezio
HOWDY! I've just completed updating the queries and surnames again. It's been just over (by one day) 2 weeks and we've had activity. There were 13 new queries and 71 new surnames added to the Tarrant Co. site. We had 714 hits to the main page and 202 to the surname page. I think this would indicate your surnames and queries are being seen by someone. We will be joining the USGW Query system in a few days. I think you will really like it. I'll be making an announcement when the new system is added. I hope your research is going well. Jean

It is the link to search the Texas Confederate Pension Records Index (over 54,000 pension applicants). If the applicant was the widow, the husband's names is also listed. There is a link from this site to another site where you can obtain help & copies of documents. You can submit your request for a photocopy of the pension info by email or click on the link for a form and fees. I did search for my great-grandfather's name and found it after several searches. I knew it was there, I already have a copy of his application and his widow's. There is quite a bit of good info in the applications. Good luck!
