It's VERY interesting that you posted a note requesting any information about a 'George W. WALTERS'. I think I may have someone in my personal files that could possibly be linked to the fellow you are looking for: I have a "G. W. Walters" - don't know what the initials stood for My G. W. Walters WAS born in Tennessee - like yours Mother and Father's name unknown Wife's name WAS Elizabeth - like yours Born August 4, 1835 (close to your quoted 1832) Had eight children, two of which are known to be names John and George - like yours Not known to be a judge as you quoted, but WAS a LAWYER These similarities make me wonder if mine and yours are one and the same? I am NOT related to this Walters line, but I have been researching it to some degree because my great-great-great grandfather, Mr. John N. GAUNY, was in business in the late 1800's with "John T. and G. Ab. WALTERS" - brothers who were lawyers. These brothers - John T. and G. Ab. (Absolem?) I believe were two sons of G. W. and Elizabeth Walters. your details are similar enough to mine to make me HOPE they are one and the same. I did not find them in the San Saba census until 1900, but I have a letter, written by John T. Walters in 1891, that is printed on the GAUNY & WALTERS BROTHERS Lawyers and Land Agents letterhead indicating they were in San Saba by 1891. Please tell me what you DO know about your Walters so we can compare notes. Does anyone else on the San Saba List have WALTERS information that looks like it ties in? Regards, Karen Gauny Crisalli
