    1. [TXSSABA] Re: ROWDEN in San Saba
    2. I am also a Rowden descendant, and although it has not been proven, I have suspected a probable kinship to the San Saba Rowdens since my gggggrandmother SARAH "SALLY" Rowden m. Martin S. Shults in early Rhea Co. TN. Around 1870-1880, census and deeds show that members of this Shults family, along with their Blevins relatives, also lived in San Saba Co. The Rowden name is first of all, not that common, and secondly, spelled so many ways. With this being the same spelling as on the original marriage certificate, I felt there was a tie-in. There is also a ROWDEN in Llano Co. around 1880 who intermarried with the TATE family, who are buried in the Sandy Mt. Cem., located today in the Sunrise Beach area of Lake LBJ I think his name was Barry E. Rowden (born 1867 died 1925) Karylon A. Russell, Box 823, Llano, TX 78643 krussell@moment.net
