Who knows the history behind this vigilante group? What was their purpose? Did they run off "outsiders"? Was this a Klan type orginization? Were they stringing up their ties on Sunday and "outsiders" or sheepherders on Monday? What was the average age? How many Texas Rangers did it take to close 'em down? Do they still exist. Were they the real "law and order"? I remember driving to Richland from Dallas one year when I was around 20. I stopped in San Saba to ask some teenagers standing on a corner directions. One of them said "You better keep on moving." I did not think much of it then. What does anyone know about this interesting part of San Saba County history? By the way: sorry about so many POSTS; I don't want to be of-FENCE-ive. A little Taylor humor there---
