    1. [TXSSABA] Knutson burials
    2. Dear Nicole, and the list: I saw your post asking for info on the burial dates for William Calvin and Rebecca Jane KNUTSON. I'm happy to say I found them in the cemetery index that I have. In fact, not only are they buried there at the Righland Springs Cemetery, but there are several other KNUTSON graves "under one curb". The last two look like they are the ones you asked about: Thomas Calvin Knutson, 1926-1926 Wiley Wanda Knutson, 1927 - 1927 Wiley W. Knutson, 10-12-1896 - 10-15-1955 (one grave space reserved) Marion Wallace Knutson, 6-11-1938 to 1-6-1960 R. J. Knutson (mother), 3-7-1855 to 6-3-1928 W. C. Knutson (father), 12-10-1854 to 2-23-1933 Hope this helps! Karen Gauny Crisalli

    2. ME I look in the mirror and what do I see? A really strange woman looking back at me. Then I have to wonder, "Where did I get this straw, that I call hair?" and, are these beady red eyes from DAWSON or OLIVERS? Is someone hiding in there??? The mouth is SATTERWHITE, are my big ears from SPRATS? Is my bulk from JOHNSON or SMELSERS? Can you tell me that? There's LACKEYS and FAVERS and HALLMARK and GRAVES, Now, which parts are mine and what role do they play? My ancestors are numerous, too many to recall, And I'm just one person, But I have parts of them all.

    1. [TXSSABA] Re: PETTY --SKELTON - MEDLIN Family of Saba County,Texas
    2. The Petty, Dawson, and Queen families came from TN via Ark. A Dawson daughter, Elizabeth, married John Petty in TN. The couple and most of their 12 children initially settled in Bastrop Co., TX near present day Red Rock. So did many of John's siblings but they did not stay. Many Petty grown children latter settled in San Saba working the cattle trails. The Bastrop boards contain a lot on the Petty family and Margie Petty along with her husband maintain the Pettytown Cemetery Association. It meets once a year in May at the cemetery, which is all that is left of Pettytown. They have a large database and may be able to help you. My husband descends from Ann Catherine Petty Williams Pogue, daughter of Elizabeth Dawson and John Petty. I have not worked on this family in 15 years. The Petty genealogy has been well documented to Barbados and England. A link on the Smith Co., TN GenWeb site (if I remember correctly) has a link to the Petty family genealogy, but they have very little on the Texas branch. Happy hunting, Linda Reid
