We are not sure if her maiden name is Tensley or Ketchum. She married Luke Adams in Rains Co. Texas around 1889. They moved to Indian Territory and she died 11/22/1904. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks! Kristy This was my great grandmother. My grandfather always told the family she was of some relation to Blackjack Ketchum but we have never been able to figure out how. A few weeks ago, I came across a picture that I have never seen of my grandfather, Nealon Luke "Bill" Adams, his brother Clarence Adams and Clyde Ketchum. I have never heard of another Ketchum relative until now. Does anyone have a Clyde Ketchum in their databases? The only places I know where this picture could have been made is in Emory, TX or in S.E. Oklahoma. I would appreciate any information. Please feel free to email me, Thanks, Kristy kristy@mbo.net

    2. Margaret
    3. Do any of you know anything about Martin DEFOREST? I find him on the 1870 census in San Saba Co. At that time he was 40 yrs old, born Kentucky. On this census Elizabeth and infant son, Isaac were living in his household. I believe she is Elizabeth (James) Bryant and her son, Isaac Bryant, though the census does not record their Bryant name. The only other place we have found mention of him is his and his wife, Jane/Jana's presence at a title tranfer when the property of Cyrus H. James (Elizabeth's father) was quit-claimed to his oldest son, O.C.James, after Cyrus died. The quit-claim was in 1887. If you know anything at all about this man, please let me know. Thanks, Margaret

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QmB.2ACI/600 Message Board Post: This was told to me just this week-end and thought it needed included here. A friend of mine was visiting his grandparents in San Saba Tx , he was a young child when all this took place so take it with a grain of salt :-) What he related was that there was a big house on top of a hill that had fences all round it. His grandparents house was at the bottom of the hill on the same lane as the big house. He said you could hear this old women cackling in the middle of the night and screaming at the help. Every night she would be in the same window upstairs swinging a lit lantern back and forth and cackling. Does anyone know the origin of this lady and the story behind her? Was she trying to guide someone home from a trip? A trip they were never coming back from? Was this a lost soul looking for a lost love??? If anyone knows of this story please contact me. Thanks Glitz
