A mailing list is a way of forwarding messages to others who are interested in the same genealogical research as you. You send your message to the list and it is sent to everyone who has subscribed to that list. And everything that anyone else sends to the list will be sent to you. It is a great way to find others who are researching in the same area or are researching the same surname or county such as Shelby. This list has been very quiet until lately, that is not much mail. Seeing this mail come through is great. It means people are interested in Shelby county. What I send to the list may not be of interest to most of the people that have signed up for this list but there just might be one person out there that is. The queries that don't pertain to me I delete and the ones that are of interest to me I contact. Thats great.
