King who is listed as having moved to TX in 1836 from GA and fought in the Battle of San Jacinto as a pvt. in the Second Regiment Texas Volunteers, did indeed get a land grant in Shelby Co in 1838. This William P. King is thought to have been a decendent of Parks King. My g-grandmother Susan Hasseltine King told of having gotten a "settlement" for some land in TX which was supossed to have been owned by a relative who fought for TX independence. Is there any record of what happened to the Land Grant, if there was one. Or any record of what happened to this William P. King? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
