    3. I am seeking contact with descendants of the ROSS family, and am interested in learning more about the many descendants of the ROSS family. My husband, James Cannon, is a descendant of: WILLIAM HENRY ROSS, b. abt 1815 TN, who mar. MARY ELIZABETH WILSON, through their daughter: AMANDA ROSS, b. Sept 20, 1849, d. Jun 27, 1875, who mar. WILLIAM M. GOLDEN, b. 1845, d. Jan 11, 1902. Is there a descendant who might have copy of any military papers concerning William H. Ross, of which I might be able to obtain a copy? Is there a GEDCOM file available that I might obtain? ROSS, WILLIAM HENRY William Henry Ross, born ca 1815 in Tennessee son of John Henry Ross and his wife, Mary. William H. died during the War Between the States about 1862 while serving the Confederacy. William H. Ross married January 25, 1838, in Yalobusha Co., MS, Elizabeth Wilson, daughter of John Wilson and Mary Hopgood of Feleciana Parish, LA, who was born 1821 in LA and died in Shelby Co., TX, after 1870. Elizabeth Wilson Ross' second husband was a man by the name of Donahue. Mary (Hopgood) Wilson married James Alfred Truitt in December 20, 1849, in Shelby Co., TX, as his second wife. No children were born to this union. William Ross and wife, Elizabeth came to Texas about 1844 with her widowed mother, brothers and sisters. Elizabeth's father had drowned in the Yalobusha River about 1843. This appears on page 752 of the Shelby County History, and was submitted by Frances Lee Truitt Wesley.
