MAP I GRANT AWARDED TO MUSEUM: The Shelby County Historical Society and Museum received word that they are the recipient of a Museum Assessment Program I (MAPI) grant. The Institute of Museum and Library Services in Washington D.C. awarded the Society and Museum a grant which pays for technical assistance, materials, surveyors' per diem and other associated fees and costs. The institutional assessment grant supports an evaluation of overall programs and operations. The survey report helps the museum structure its operations more efficiently, thereby improving its services to the community and increasing its base of support.
