    3. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE AT AT AT AT AT AT SHELBY COUNTY MUSEUM The SCHS had there regular meeting last Thursday. Some 90 people attended the meeting Feb. 25th. "Traveling Artist" a group of students from Joaquin Elementary presented a program where they portrayed artist from American History. They dressed and acted the part of the artists while holding a print of the artist's work. Many thanks to Debbie Leggett for putting these talented students together for the presentation. Mr. Al Borden and John Ogelsby from San Augustine's Mission Delores presented a slide show of the Mission and the many things that are happening down there. Members agreed that a road trip down to San Augustine is in order in March. The fundraising campaign is still in full swing. We are at 20% of our goal of $25,000. Two more interior rooms nearing completion due greatly on part of several volunteers. Funds are needed for floor finishing and lighting and displays. The Historical Trackers a gifted and talented group of 4-6 graders donated $200 from their Valentine sales. Many thanks to Mrs. Fannie Watson's group for their support. Volunteers are needed for the morning or afternoon shift at the Museum. Team Leader for the Archiving and Accessioning is Ray Jackson. The team, Robert Barnett, Connie Hodges and Margie Randel are working every morning from 9-12 to inventory the Museum's collection. Reba James and Nancy McLeory are Team Leaders over the Genealogy Library. Any volunteer help in that area would be deeply appreciated.
