Shelby County Historical Society MEETING May 27 -- 6:00 p.m. Shelby County Museum Ms. Bridgette Jones, Director of the Sam Rayburn House will speak on the importance of preserving our heritage for tourism and economic development. Ms. Jones will also update members on the restoration project presently being do on the Rayborn house due to last year's fire. Ms. Jones works with the Texas Historical Commission assisting in master planning. She will be developing a plan for the Shelby County Museum. - ----------------------------------- Mrs. Daurice Murphy has retired from her position as Museum Director due to health reasons. Mrs. Murphy has served in many capacities over the past 17 years with the society. She is a dedicated individual that has devoted the last 17 years to service to our community and historical preservation. - --------------------------------- Volunteers are needed to help in the newsletter, mail outs, and cataloging.
