I am looking for my grandmothers family , she was born in1847 . Her father was killed in the Mexican war in1846.His name was Shumake[ Schummaker] I don't know her fathers given name or her mothers given name.Her mother later married a Samples and grandmother was raised by him . Her name wes Catherine Elizabeth shumake.In about 1870 she married Lewis Watkins Holt.They raised 10 childern in shelby co.Died in April 1924 .Buried in the Neuville comunity cemetary.Thank you Lillie B.
