    3. Howdy Folks, I just joined the list. I am a Sholar family researcher looking to establish links from the Shelby Co. Sholars to the other families from where they came prior to migrating to Texas. I found this little interesting morcel which prompted me to join this list. SHOLAR, TEXAS. Sholar was twenty miles northeast of Center in far northeastern Shelby County. It was probably named for the Sholar family, who lived in the area. The community had a post office from 1900 until 1915 and probably served as the post office for the nearby sawmill community of Eagle Mills. In 1914, in addition to the post office, the settlement had a store and a gin. Sholar had ceased to exist as a named community by 1946. I am particularly intereted in locating where Charles Monroe Sholar b. November 10, 1853 in Trigg Co. KY. He left for Texas in the late 1870's early 1880's. It is said he was a school teacher. I was interesed to find out if the above referenced material might offer up some clues as to where he ended up? Or what branch of this family the town got it's name? Are there any Sholar family researchers on this list? If there are I would be very pleased to hear from you. Thanks and have a great day! Colonel Jim
