The money will help purchase 6 plexiglas hoods that will cover wooden pedestal bases. We really appreciate the hard work of this very energetic group of young people and their sponsor and teacher, Mrs. Fannie Watson. ++++++++++++++++++++ Through a generous donation from the Center Hotel/Motel Tax, the Museum was able to complete the Ultra Violet window protection treatment. UV rays from the sun damage and destroy items, but with proper tinting the damaging sun's rays can be 99.9% eliminated. Thanks to the City of Center Hotel Motel Tax for the donation and Ultra Shade Plus for the installation of the tinting. ++++++++++++++++ VOLUNTEERS Only fours hours a week can make a great difference in your community. The Museum is looking for a few good volunteers ready to work and learn. Contact the Daily Operations Manager, Becky Yates at the Museum, if you can help make a difference. Oral Histories - The museum is undertaking a project of gathering oral histories. If you know someone that knows something that you feel is of interest, please contact the Museum and ask Margie Randle to line an interview. Also if would like to help, give Mrs. Randle a call and we will set you up with the proper techniques and equipment to start preserving our living history. -- Shelby County Historical Society Shelby County Museum and Genealogy Research Library Post Office Box 1542 230 Pecan Street Center, Texas 75935-1542 tel:409/598-3613 fax: 409/591-0959 schs@panola.cc.tx.us www.panola.cc.tx.us/~schs Monday - Friday 1:00 - 4:00 Saturdays 10:00 - 2:00 After hours by appointment
