Edgel: I have kin named May and a great grandfather called Jim William May who lived in Shelby county. I think that the census showed he was born in MS circa 1863. He was married to Catherine Malicy Hammer(s). My grandfather, Beura Elisha May, was born May 6, 1904 in Center, Texas. His brother was Archie May. Both moved to California.
