The Shelby County Historical Society will host its Annual Christmas Open House and Bake Sale this Saturday, December 2 from 10 till 2 at the Shelby County Museum and Genealogy Library, 230 Pecan Street, Center, TX. Live music, holiday decorations, refreshments and bake sale items. Come have your photo taken with Santa Claus in front of the 12' Christmas Tree. Proceeds go toward the Society's educational and preservation programs in Shelby County. HERITAGE BULB PROGRAM - PLANTING SHELBY COUNTY ONE BULB AT A TIME Part of the Society's effort to raise funds for the museum as well as to beautify Shelby County is the Heirloom & Heritage Bulb program. These are naturalizing bulbs closely related to the daffodil that will multiply each year producing a very fragrant cluster of blooms. Specifically selected for the East Texas climate they are easy to plant and drought tolerate. Order your gift by December 13th. Prefect for holiday gift giving. The Society will send out a card to the person(s) that you are giving the bulbs to notifying them that a gift is on the way. Bulbs will be available for pickup January 5 and 6th at the museum.
