I've checked the Texas Confederate Pensions Application Files and there are three men named Parrish from Shelby County: Julius Parrish wife Berthel, Lawrence Parrish and T. H. Parrish. Listed from Nacogdoches County were: Laura P Parrish, wife of Thomas R., Nancy A. Parrish, wife of William, W. B. Parrish, and W. S. Parrish. Does anyone recognize any of these people? Could Columbus be a member of their family? Can anyone tell me what confederate units were formed from Shelby County? I strongly suspect that Columbus was killed during the war leaving a wife, Sarah "Sallie" and daughter Georgia. "Sallie" married Thomas Carroll in Dec 1865 in Shelby Co. Joyce
