Can anyone help me with this person? Mary Elizabeth Moody Metcalf Mary Elizabeth Moody was reportedly born in Louisiana on 17 Oct 1843. She died 1 Feb 1911 in Shelby County Texas. She married William Baird Metcalf in Griffin, Cherokee, Texas. One of her grandsons told me that she came to Shelby County from Baton Rouge. She appears in the 1850 census in the household of her father James Moody and mother Ann. They both stated that they were born in Georgia. All her siblings were born in Alabama. Siblings were William, John, Domalitte (f) and Levy. Family tradition is that William Baird married a Sarah Bowden after Mary died and I find a Sarah Metcalf in Our Dead. However, I have an old picture of an older lady that is marked on the back as Mary Elizabeth Bowden Metcalf does. William Bairds obit states that he was a Confederate veteran but I can find no record of this. Any help would be appreciated Dan Capps
