Florence is a cousin of all of us descended from James McCauley. She is the granddaughter of Thomas T. McCauley, son of James. I visited with her when I began my research in 92/93. She died this past spring. She had one son, Bobby, who lives in Kilgore, I believe. She might have one sister still living in Bryan, TX. Florence was active in the DAR and lived in San Augustine. She grew up on the original McCauley land grant and had some wonderful stories to tell me about family. I love the one about the young man who climbed a tall pine tree and stayed there all night while the recruiters were searching for him to serve in the confederate army. She shared a letter from T.T. to his wife which was written while he was encamped at Hempstead during the above referenced war. She had tintypes and other photos of unnamed relatives. I will be glad to share what I have. Olivia A.
