Grandpa's cousin sent me a letter in the mail today that was written to her December 17, 1941 by my great-grandmother, Sarah Jane Cleveland. Sarah Jane's father, Thomas Milton Cleveland, was born in Pickens County, SC, in 1850, and moved to Panola County, TX, between 1860 and 1872. He and several other family members are buried at Corinth Cemetery in Shelby County. I do not know what other family members came to Texas with him. This letter matches the names siblings that I know about, but do not have much more on their families. "dad [Thomas Milton Cleveland] only had one brother and one sister but he had several half brothers and sisters his only brother used to live near Tom Bean Texas in Grayson co tho he has ben dead a long time Brother Sid went to see Cousin Sid and his sisters one time while Vera and Glen lived at Wichata I think they live at Gains vill and uncle Paul or a Half uncle came to Texas not so many years ago but he is dead now I think all of these you no aunts and uncles are dead tho I don't think uncle Eabils [? - hard to read] children are dead I used to write to the girls before they married there was Lizzie - Maggie and Elvira - Sid and Ernest But I dont no any of their addresses Aunt Mary married a rice she had a boy named Cleveland and Tommie I used to write to them at west minster South Carolina aunt Nannie married a simmons they came to Texas But I never saw any of them Brother Sid is only one that saw any of dads people I dont no far shure aunt Mattie and uncle Spurgeon may still live I dont no who aunt Josie or aunt Sarah married I think aunt Jane and addie died single I just dont no all their names but was 18 children in dads family Grand dad married 3 times so he had 3 sets of children" Following is what I know about Jonathan Reeder Cleveland and his family.
