LECTURE SERIES 2001 Thanks to the generous support of the Shelby County Historical Society's membership, patrons, and Friends of the Museum we are able to bring you LECTURE SERIES 2001. The series is FREE and open to members, general public, researchers, students or interested persons. Meetings start at 6:00 p.m. and are held at the Museum, 230 Pecan Street, Center, TX * January 25, 2001 - Dr. Jere Jackson, SFASU, Center for East Texas Studies will present a program on "Collecting Oral and Written Histories - Saving and Sharing them for future generations". * February 22, 2001 - Mr. Keith Elkins, Texas Lottery Commission. Mr. Elkins will present an overview of the lottery since its inception in the early 1990s. Also there will be a Q&A period to discuss areas of concern, future spending, where is the revenue going and to what projects, etc. * March 22, 2001 - Dr. Archie McDonald, SFASU, History Department will enlighten the audience about the Texas Revolution's little know facts and its importance in history.
