Thanks to a reply I received about my web pages, I found that the partial index to the census did not have all of the names included in the partial census listing. I have updated the index so it does (I hope) matched the partial census listing. Dorp my web pages for: By row listing of Weaver Cemetery, Shelby Co., TX. By row listing of Dixon Cemetery, Shelby Co., TX. 1900 Shelby Co., TX census extract for the area around the Weaver community. Index to the above census extract. A list of the staff and students from The Bear 1958, Timpson, TX (the students are listed by class and are listed in the order in which their names appear.) I hope this helps someone. http://www.flash.net/~parino/cem_links.htm . Jim Barrett Bedford,TX parino@flash.net

LouElla Bussey married a Jordan Morris in Shelby Co 06 January 1895. By 1900 she was married to Ruben Wooten. She had at least one child by Jordan Morris, a girl named Estella. I really need to find out about this first husband Jordan Morris. I have an ancestor by that name who was last know to be in Claiborne Parish in 1860. His descendants were in Shelby Co in the 1890's. If this Jordan Morris is my missing grandpa, he would have been 85 yrs old when he married. I guess that might explain why LouElla was remarried 5 yrs later. But my best guess is that this Jordan Morris is a son or grandson of my ancestors. I have quite a bit of info on the Wootens as they are cousins in a different line. Any hints about LouElla's first husband? Any family lore about him being an old old man? Melinda
Anne, I've lost my email address book, and don't have your email address. Would you please contact me personally? Need to discuss the Cannon family - SC to TX. Thanks, Sallie
Thanks again for all the replies to my question. Several people had asked about what I found out, so I hope Col. Choron does not mind me sharing these segments of his very informative email. (Col. - I snipped out the segments with people's names in case you didn't want them broadcasted over the internet.) Thanks to all who responded to my question about area newspapers. I will look for the Panola Watchman, the Timpson & Teneha Times, and the Light & Champion out of Center for the obituaries on my CLEVELAND, TURNER, MITCHELL, NEILL, WOOD, and related families. Brenda Parker Houston, TX
What newspapers would I look for to find obituaries for people who lived in Shelby and Panola Counties in the 1900's (early, middle, and late)? These Turner and Cleveland families lived on the county line and are buried at Corinth Cemetery. Brenda Parker Houston, TX
