He was a sheet metal worker in the construction field and was a member of the Assembly of God Church of San Augustine. He is survived by his wife: Johnnie Strong Higginbotham of San Augustine; Daughters, Kathryn & Randall Wise of Melrose, Texas, Nancy & Terry Rice of Nacogdoches, Texas, Delena & Robert Wilburn of Melrose, Texas; Sons, Billy & Debbie Higginbotham of Broaddus, Texas, Randy & Rene Higginbotham of Nacogdoches, Texas, Ronald & Susan Higginbotham of Chireno, Texas; Sisters, Billie Joyce & Freeman Bryant of San Augustine, Texas, Louise & Allen Johns of Lufkin, Texas, Dell Arnold of San Augustine, Texas; Brothers, John & Mary Ann Higginbotham of Marlin, Texas, Joe & Sally Davis of San Augustine, Texas; Sister-In-Law, Kate Higginbotham of Channelview, Texas; 20 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Higginbotham and a brother, Earl Higginbotham. Funeral Services were under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home. They were held at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with burial following at Liberty Hill Cemetery on Saturday, November 9, 2002, at 2:00 P.M.
