My grandmother is buried in the Harvey Cemetery, also. This cemetery was moved from the original plot when Sam Rayburn Lake was formed, and it is now very accessible on Hiway 147 S. leaving Broaddus, San Augustine County, Texas. Also, if you have been reading this San Augustine web-site, you will be familiar with the book which I know is located in the County Clerk's office, entitled "Caucasian Cemeteries of San Augustine County, Texas". It is my understanding from others on this site that the San Augustine Library might have copies of this. Many genealogy sections in various Texas libraries probably have copies of this. Since your last name is Harvey - perhaps you will want to check out the Harvey Family History book which is also in most genealogy sections. However, I know for a fact that this is not totally complete, as my grandmother is listed, but the rest of her information is not, due to an oversight. But, it is generally accepted as correct information, and most informative. Present location: When the Magee Bend Resevoir (later named Sam Rayburn Lake) was built in the 1960's , sixty-two graves were located southeast of the home site of Stephen Prather Harvey, Sr and two unknown graves were reinterred one mile south of Broaddus, Texas on Hwy #147 on top of a hill to the right of the highway. Harvey Cemetery original location: was located on land owned by Glen Harvey estate, three miles southeast of Broaddus, and contained 62 graves. Ten graves have formal markers, three of which have double stones. The remaining 52 graves are either marked with native stone or are unmarked. Investigation reveals that all unmarked graves can be identified. The Dept of the Army Corp of Engineers has the original location data. This information is from the Cauc Cemty Bk Volume II I would be happy to give you any information that is in this book pertaining to your family.
