My father was Johnnie Ray Nabours (1935-1986) his mother Ella Floy Curry was killed by her boyfriend when he was very young. He was raised by the Curry's and Self's. I have found no record of Ella and Clyde Carlton (Tobe) nabours as ever being married but my father recieved money from his estate after Tobe's death. Johnnie Ray Nabours married Linda Sue Herrin and they had three children: Johnnie Clint (1965), Brandon Shane (1971), and Christy Leigh (1973). We were raised in Orange, Texas but my brother and I married women from North Carolina and live in Burgaw, NC now. I have three daughters: Savannah Marie(6yr), Tara Marisa(3yr), and Scarlett Malynda (2yr). Most of the relatives that I knew have died. It is good to hear from you. I met a grandson of Marshal Nabours while throwing darts one night in orange ,texas but have not heard from him in years. Have a Happy Thanks Giving cousin. Clint tejaseto@aol.com

I'm interested in seeing what you have and will be glad to share with you anything I have that you want. I have the Nabours family Bible which was purchased by Alston. In it is written information on many of his descendents. Also, a variety of obituaries and such from newspapers and handwritten notes on various family members were placed between the pages. I've found sources that trace Alston's wife's family back several generations before her time. You probably know her name was Elizabeth Quirk. I'll email some of this information to you sometime this week. I'm a bit rushed for time at the moment. Keith

Jarusha Barnes was another name for Lucia, Lucy, Lusha. Amazing how many names they had. On John Marshall & Elizabeth they had four boys, John Marshall II (Sharp), Joe Aaron, William Wise (Bill) and Emery Johnson. Emery was my father. John Marshall was 71 Years old when my father was born. Not bad for an old man, ha. My grandfather was in his 60's and my grandmother was in her 20's when they married. He had grandchildren as old as her. This Sarah Green Barnes has been a mystery to me on several occasions. I will research all I can on this Wildy and Anna. Any help you can give me on them I would appreciate. I will try to do the photos tomorrow and e-mail them to you. I am wondering about the 5th son of Marsh & Elizabeth. He had 6 girls by Nancy and 4 boys by Elizabeth. Please keep in touch and we can get everything up to date.

First of all I would love to have any picture you are willing to share. Like I said, I'll gladly pay for costs. As for Luschia Barnes, I have wondered if she and Sarah Green Barnes were related. I have Wm. Leroy as being married to Jarusha Barnes, but later found it in census as Lucy, I think. I have that Sarah Green Barnes was the daughter of Ebenezer Barnes. The cemetary book that you mentioned lists her being married to your grandfather, John Marsh Dickerson. I am in the process of getting the info. that I have to the lady that is responsible for those books. They are reprinting. I spoke to her on the phone and said if I found any errors that she would make the changes. But obviously I need to prove it to her. Both my grandparents insist that Elish Dickerson was the father to Wildy and Anna, Sarah's kids, but they were never married. Born on the wrong side of the blanket so to speak. Marsh Dickerson was married to Nancy at that time and having! kids of his own. I did find a record where Elish Dickerson and one of Sarah's brother enlisted in the CSA together. They must have been friends. I need to get out a map and try to figure out where these people lived, they must have lived close. I would love to trade info with you. Let me know if you are comfortable with that. I have the names of 5 sons for Marsh and Elizabeth, but no other info. I will gladly share what I have. Please let me know about the photos. Karen Wall

    3. I am curious about the names of DICKERSON and HARVEY. My g grandfather was Robert Dickerson/Dickinson ARDREY. His mother's maiden name as far as I can tell was Elizabeth HARVEY. Elizabeth was born in GA about 1799 and moved to San Augustine Co., about 1844 after the death of her husband, Alexander ARDREY in 1843 Point Coupee Parish, LA. All her children (sons), except the youngest, were born in Wilkinson Co., MS. Have you found any information concerning the above named people in your Dickerson-Harvey search? She was first married to William Leroy Dickerson and after his death she married John Harvey. We have tried to tie in this Sarah Green Barnes with our family as it shows in cemetery records that she was married to a Dickerson, but so far no luck.
