These are the Watsons that I found in a the original members of the James Church of Christ, located about 7 miles out of Center in Shelby County. The Church was established as McKee's Chapel and later moved and renamed for the James Community. The asterisks mark charter members in 1901. The book contained only the information in italics. The rest was added by me based on various records. They may be kin to your family since the name Lemuel is not that common. Sue M. 6. O. A. Olie Watson - This is probably Ollie Watson who married W. L. Young on May 26, 1912. She was a daughter of Lem G. and Ruth Watson, and sister to Tom Watson, Fannie Manning, Laura Clark, Fronie Wilson and Clyde Watson. She died young.

I don't know if they are the same Watsons. My grandmother's maiden name was Fannie Watson, born 1888 in Ironosa, Shelby Co., TX. She married Archie Davis from San Augustine Co., TX. Her father was William Washington Watson. Her mother was Narcissus Byrd Watson. William Washington Watson had a brother named Nehemiah Taylor - called Taylor - Watson, a Baptist Preacher who came to the area with them. Billy Watson's parents were John and Frances Watson. They lived in Coffee Co., AL. I don't seem to have Lemuel, T. C. or Henry Watson on my database. George is further back and is of course a common name.
