    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ElB.2ACE/630.1 Message Board Post: There was a community called White City located south of San Augustine, off Hwy. 83 and FM 705, down close to where Sam Rayburn reservoir is now located. I have never heard of a White City Cemetery or church but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. There are a number of churches and cemeteries in that area (one of the most active is the Oak Grove Church and Cemetery). I don't know a lot about this community but I have some friends that have lived in the area for all their lives. Hope this helps you.

I looked at the birth certificates for both my GM, Elsie Mae (I think it was) and Lela Mae at the San Augustine Coruthouse. One of them said Sumpter and one said Comfort as maiden names for her...I think these birth certificates were created by her husband. So whatever info you can find, I would love to have it. I have also been looking for about 4 years and came to an information impasse. My GM was Elsie Mae Johnson Teel...she was married to Lilly Teel and my dad's name is Leroy Teel. Kathy (Teel) Burris
