I looked in my marriage records up to 1920 and did not find a marriage for them. The only Lucky is Bessie. Family history states that WILLIAM ALFRED LUCKY married GERTRUDE VIDA DAVIS at Massey ,TX in August of 1897. However, I feel the year was 1894 and not 1897. Since W. A. Lucky was from East Texas, I think the marriage was at Massa in San Augustine Co., Is there anyone on the list who could do a look-up for both 1894 and 1897 to see if the marriage took place in San Augustine Co.,? If not, does anyone have the address where I might write for a record search? I am in North lCarolina and do not have access to San Augustine materials. Thanks, Jean Davidson <jdavidson36@juno.com>
I was wondering if anyone had the 1920 Census for San Augustine County, if they would up please do a look up for me for a Joseph Perry "J.P." Moore? I would be so grateful for your assistance in trying to track down my great grandfather. Last I caught sight of him was on the 1910 Shelby County Census. But he must have moved because he had a daughter, Odell, that was born in 1919 in San Augustine. I know he died by 1956 because I found a burial record for him. Thank you for your time and assistance. Priscilla

His father's name was Sam or Samuel King whose wife was Martha I believe. Thomas died around 1860 of what people called brain fever. He was my G-Grandfather and any information about him or his descendants will help me in my research.
Brain fever, or inflamation of the brain, was often caused from encephalitus that was typically contracted from Mosquitoes, the primary carriers of this disease. Do you have any names & dates for any children of Thomas & Martha King, and do you know if this family appeared in the 1850 census? --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Try FREE Yahoo!
