I am researching the SHARPS Lineage and the TIPTON side comes into the lineage from Eli Sharp married a Jane Tipton a daughter of Jonathan Tipton. Since Eli would be my gggranddad and Jane my gggrandma would like to check into this line. The following is what I have: It is taken from the Alabama Record, bk 171 this was taken from the Probate Record 1860-62, page 195 Eli Sharp b. 1822 d. unk married a Jane Tipton b. 1821 d. Unk married 26 Dec 1841, Madison Co., Al. and the following that I have on Jane's parents and Siblings Jonathan Tipton 63 b.abt 1798 VA died 1861 leaving a widow Mary (Baker???) Tipton they married 28 June 1829 Madison Co., Al and the following Children and grandchildren: Shadrach M. Tipton Katy Linsey ( maybe Lindsey) wife of Elisha Linsey living in Texas. Nancy Shelton wife of Elisha Shelton living in Texas Jane Sharp wife of Eli Sharp living in Madison Co., Ala The children of Arminda Gwathney deceased formerly Arminda Tipton: 1. Nancy Ann, wife of Bryant Jones, Jackson Co. Ala 2. John Gwathney of Jackson Co., Al in the Confederate States Army 3. Mary Gwathney, Jackson Co., Al, 4. Joseph Gwathney, Jackson Co. Al. 5. Eliza Jane Gwathney Jackson Co., Al 6. Robert Gwathney, Jackson Co., Al 7. Jonathan Gwathney, Jackson Co., Al Charles Tipton, Jackson Co, Alabama Matilda Millican wife of John Millican, in Mississippi Lavana Sharp, wife of Aaron Sharp,(Eli's brother) Madison Co., Al Rachael Cruse wife of Robert Cruse, Texas William W Tipton, Madison Co., in the Conferate States Army Phenity Tipton, Madison Co., Al Jackson Tipton, Jackson Co., Al. in the Conferate States Army Joseph F. Tipton, Jackson Co., Al. Thomas T. Tipton, Jackson Co., Al Jonathan J. Tipton , Madison Co., Al Susan A. Tipton Madison Co., Al married a Wilson Putman living in Tullahoma, Tn Enoch B. Tipton, Madison Co., Al Sarah Frances Tipton, Madison Co., Al The settlement of the estate is in Probate Record 30, pg 186, May 1869 for Johathan Tipton. The above info was taken from the Alabama Record bk. 171, which has printed the Probate Records on Jonathan Tipton and his heirs. Would like to get info on the above if I could.
