    3. Researching the lineage of Joshua C. Morrison, may Granddad which is my father's Columbus E. Morrison Dad. The following is what I have found as the results of some very very nice people on Mailing List on the Internet an by relatives, which was not very much. Like to advised the following may be very confusing, but, will make attempt to make it less confusing. 1. Joshua C. Morrison was borned abt Oct 1863 or 1864 in St. Clair Co., Al. It has been told by my parents that (Granddad) Joshua C. did not know his father was. Not sure how he died, but some think that he died in the Civil War after Jan 1863 or 64 or after Feb. Have been checking the Unit Rosters of Units that had men from St. Clair Co, Al. Have not been able to find out anything on James D. Morrison he would have been about 34-37 of age at the time. Lot of the Rosters on the Internet are not complete and does not list everyone that served. Information furnish by other individuals on rootsweb sites on the internet, census, Carroll Co, Ga, St. Clair Co, Al sites and Web sites in Texas. The information that has been obtained is as follows: a. Carroll Co, Ga marriage records and census shows or reveals. 1. James D. Morrison b. 1828 Ga d.after Feb 1863 have not been able to verify date of death or where he may be buried. The 1850 Carroll Co, Ga Census has James as 22, but the St. Clair Co, 1860 Census (James and Wife had 2 children borne in Ga prior to them moving in 1852 or early 53 to Carroll Co, Ga) has his age as 38 and if that is the case he would have been borne 1822 or 23. Do not know how to verify this!! Also the marriage of James D. was to a Rutha Suton or Layton not sure of the last name. Have info that shows both names. Due to car trouble was going to Carrollton, Ga to check this out, but cannot now. WOULD RE-IMBURSE ANYONE THAT HAPPENS TO BE IN CARROLLTON, GA AND CHECK THE ACTUAL CERTIFATE OR MARRIAGE LICENSE TO VERIFY HER NAME. 2. Based on the 1853 Carroll Co, Ga Tax List James D was still living in there, so they would have moved during that yr because their next child was borned in St. Clair Co, Al in 1853. 3. The Children for James D. and Rutha Morrison were taken from the 1860 and 1870 St Clair Co, Al Census. CHILDREN William Morrison b. abt 1851 POB. Ga ( Div II, Carroll Co, Ga) Amanda (Sarah) b. abt 1853 " " " " " " Jane b. abt 1856 " Al ( St. Clair Co, Al) James M. b. abt 1858 " " " " John B.(Byrd ??) b. 27 Aug 1860 ' " " " " Joshua C. b. abt Oct1863 or 64 " " " " " (My Granddad) 4. QUESTION IS: A William J. Morrison in St. Clair married M. J. Stone 19 Dec 1870. If anyone knows if this is the one in the same as the above William would appreciate the information. 5. The St. Clair Co, Al marriage book located in the Huntsville, Al Library has a Thomas Skinner age 22 marriage to a Rutha Morrison 8 Nov 1866 and the note in the book" Bride married before, consent of grooms guardian , Rutha Morrison." Does anyone know why they would put a note like that if the Rutha Morrison was going to marry Thomas Skinner and his guardian????? 6. The 1870 Census of St. Clair Co., Al has Rutha as a Skinner married to Thomas Skinner sometime in 1866 and all of James D. Morrison and Rutha's still living at home. Does anyone know if this Rutha is the one in same as the one married to James D. Morrison???? 7. It has been learn that Rutha Morrison died around 1875 and Thomas Skinner remarried to a Ann Morrison 5 Sep 1876. Does anyone make a connection to who Ann Morrison parents where??? 8. There is a Andrew Jack Morrison in Carroll Co, Ga that was in War of 1812. There is a Andrew J Morrison b. 1820-22 in Ga that everyone believes to be James D. Morrison brother. They both moved to St.Clair Co, Al after 1853. Does anyone think that this Andrew J. Morrison that was in the War of 1812 could be James and Andrew's dad???? 9. Wish to obtain any information on the above. Also, will reimburse anyone that may check the marriage Certificate or License in Carroll County Court House for me to verify Rutha's last name and age. James and Rutha were married 2 Nov 1848 in Carroll Co., Ga. 10. Any info on the above will be greatly appreciated, and the info that I have obtain from some wonder people has been a God send, since it seems as though I am the only one on in my Line that is doing any research on the Morrison Lineage. Thanks again>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.....Bob
