Thanks to those kind folks that sent me suggestions on finding "Spicey Ridge and Bear Creek Beat" by T. O. Bell. It is not a book that would be in Amazon, or any of the book stores on the net, however. (I've tried.) It is a privately published book, in 1995 by the author. His phone number (printed in the book) has now been assigned to someone else, so he has either passed away or moved. He lived in Longview, I believe, in 1995 when the book was published. I suspect this book may be carried in a local area bookshop. I live in Austin, so I can't hop over very easy to look for it. I recall there is a local history shop in the old jail in Hemphill, but I don't have the phone number or even the name of the shop. If anyone could look it up and post it to me, I'd appreciate it greatly. I'm not sure I have the title correct, but it is close. This book has a lot of pictures of Brookeland, Sabine County, etc. and enumerates the census list for several censuses for that precinct of Sabine County.
