I am researching the MORRISON lineage and what I have is as follows: 1. James Morrison b. 1822-28 Calhoun County/Carroll County, Georgia d. 1863-64 St. Clair County, Georgia, married a Rutha (Staten) Layton Nov 1848, in Carroll County, Ga. She born 1830 GA died 1876 St. Clair County, Ga. Rutha married the second time to a Thomas Skinner 8 Nov 1866 St. Clair County, Ga. The ones that I am most interesting in are as follows: 1A. James Morrison and Rutha had the following children: 1a.1 William Morrison b. 1851 Ga 1a.2 Sarah Amanda b. 1853 Ga 1a.3 Jane Morrison b. 1856 St. Clair County, Alabama 1a.4 James M. b. 1858 " " " " 1a.5 John Byrd "REV" b. 27 Aug 1862 St. Clair County, Alabama d. abt 1936 Greenville, Hunt Co., Texas an buried in Greenville, Tex 1a.6 Joshua Morrison b. 1863/4 St. Clair County, Texas The child of Thomas Skinner and Rutha Skinner was Georgina Skinner b. 1867 d. in Hunt County, Tx and is buried in Greenville, Tx What is known is that the above were gone out of St. Clair County, after 1879. Located again in 1881 in Giles County, Tennessee. Where John Byrd Morrison married Susan Lenora Jackson 11 Jan 1881 and had the following children: 1a.5.1 William Dee Morrison b 18 May 1882 Tenn .2 Wretha (F) b. 21 Jan 1883 Tenn .3 Lafayette b. 24 March 1885 .4 Charlie Glen 24 April- Pulaski, Tn .5 Birdie Lee b.26 Aug 1890 Pulaski, Tn .6 Jennie Bell (Helen b. 23 Aug 1892 Pulaski, Tn .7 Lisa Mae b. 20 July 1895 Celeste or Kellogg, Tx .8 Ora 15 June 1900 Wolf Creek, Tx .9 Opal b. 4 April 1903 Wolf Creek, Tx Second Marriage of John Byrd was to Minnie Mitchel and children were: 1. Anna Rutha 2. John Byrd Jr. John Byrd moved to Texas sometimes after 1893 and he is buried in Hunt County, Greenville, Tx also Georgiana is buried there. Trying to locate the lineage of John Byrd and his children. Have found Joshua C. Morrison my Granddad. Have not been able to locate any other of the children William, Sarah Amanda, Jane Morrison. Would appreciate any information on the above that can be furnished. Have been told some migrated into Tennessee, Florida, Okla also. Not sure and have not been able to locate anyone.
