Well Hello Sabine County - glad to have found you. I am desperately trying to find out what KY county my William C. PHILLIPS was born in. I am hoping if someone has access to marriage records it might say the city at least. He was b 1824. His father was born abt 1800 in KY and his mother was a Miss Harrison of VA. Unknown if his parents marr in VA or KY. He married Eliza Jane Smith abt 1845 in Sabine. Eliza was b in 1825 Lawrence Co., Miss and d abt 1861 in TX. She was the dau of Eli N. Smith and Rachel Slaughter (also of Sabine). She died and he later m Amanda SMITH. Far as I know an unrelated SMITH. This may tie into George W. SMITH below that marr. a dau of Eliza's - Sarah Jane PHILLIPS (George was b abt 1841 in Missouri) William C. PHILLIPS was buried in 1892 at Cedar Valley Cemetary, Bell Co, TX and I have had no success in locating that either. I found in a GLO search a Cedar Valley Church in Lancaster, Dallas County and a Cedar Valley Cemetary in Bell County but what city? HELP William C and Eliza had 8 children. The first two born in Sabine, Mary Jane born 1844 and John H. born 1848 d 1860. A genealogy type letter by my grandma says, "He didn't fight in the civil war. He stayed home to protect the frontier. He was a Texas Ranger and knew how to graft fruit trees. They settled near Brownwood, Texas and he and several other family members died there". (I know Brownwood is in Brown Co) Also, there was a lot of talk about Marble Falls - which I think is in Burnet Co. ARE BROWN, BURNET AND BELL COUNTIES CLOSE TO EACH OTHER? My info is that Bell Co was created from Milam Co in 1/22/1850 . He an family appear on 1850 Panola Co census page 453, HH129. His next 3 children were born in Liberty, Panola Co He an family appear on 1860 Burnet Co census his last 3 kids born in Llano, Burnet Here's the rest of my info Mary Jane - b 1844 - don't know husband John H. b 1848 d 1860 Hugh H b Mar 1, 1850 d abt 1870 m Miss Atwood James Slaughter Phillips b Mar 1, 1850 (twin to above) m Mary Catherine KING Mahala M. b Dec 1850 - don't know husband Sarah Jane b 1853 d abt 1867 m George W. Smith (he re-marr Martha Davidson) Elizabeth b 1855 - don't know husband Manerva Emmaline b Jul 1860 d ? m David Andrews Eudaley Please, if anyone can help with a birth record of Mary Jane or John H., or a marriage records of William C and Eliza. Or perhaps a lead on an obit or will of William C. anything that can place William C SOMEWHERE SPECIFIC in KY. This is my brick wall.
