My grx3 grandfather James A. Curry migrated from Hancock Co, GA to Conecuh Co, AL, to Amite Co, MS, somewhere in LA. Before he received a 1st class headright in Sabine Co, TX. One of the first settlers of Sabine Dist, TX. About 1848 moved to San Augustine Co, TX. Settling on part of the Lucas Survey, between Ayish Bayou and Angelina River, just above the Jasper Co. line. Entering TX with him were at least 3 of his children; James Thomas Curry, Joseph "Joe" Curry, and Julia Ann Curry. Two children were born after they arrived in TX, Lucinda Curry and William Curry. James A's: 2nd wife was Elizabeth Farnel. James Thomas: 1st-Cecelia/Celia Hickman [Chesher/Chessher], children; William, Wiley C., Jesse, Lucinda, Troy. 2nd-Emaris C. Coleman [Curry], children; James, Cazetta, Edward, Willie, William H.or A., Martha A., Jacob, Mack, Melvina. Joseph "Joe": Emaris C. Coleman, children; Joel/Joe, Elizabeth, Catherine, John.
