    3. Dear All, I sent the following to the list via my Hotmail account on Sept. 2, but apparently it never arrrived! I've had so many computer problems lately, I'm behind, so if you've asked me to do something for you, please be patient. So, I'm sending it via another account to try again. Thanks, Kay ***************************************************** Walter, Francis Marcus Weatherred, Jr. and his wife are buried in my back yard! Actually, in the Milam Cemetery behind my house. They have a large monument between their individual markers. This is what it says: Francis Marcus Weatherred Came to Texas in 1835 Born in Albermarle County, Virginia July 15, 1781 Soldier in the Creek Indian War and the Texas War for Independence, 1836 Died December 4, 1854 His Wife Nancy Dowell Weatherred Born in Virginia 1791 Died in Sabine County, Texas 1864 Erected by the State of Texas 1962 *************** Both have footmarkers shaped like the state of TX with the Citizen of Republic of Texas Seal. Their headmarkers are: Nancy Ann Dowell Weatherred 1791 - 1864 Francis Marcus Weatherred 1781 - 1854 ******************* I don't know a Weatherred researcher right now, but I'll be on the lookout for one. Our county historian told me a while back that there was a big service for the dedication of the marker in 1962 and a bunch of descendents from around Dallas came to the ceremony. If I can be of any assistance, let me know. Kay Kay Parker McCary, Milam, Sabine Co., TX http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/c/c/Kay-P-McCary/index.html
