Nep was from Conecuh County, Alabama, where he married his first wife, Sally Stallsworth. Their children were William Robert (Rob, who lived to be at least 94 years old; born 25 Dec 1870); Alice; and Emmett (had a son named Timmy Grace). Neptune left Alabama and went to Robertson Bend, by the Sabine River. He was associated with Henry and Allen Robertson/Roberson from Georgia. The Robertsons, who were from Georgia, had a native American cook (Cherokee or probably Seminole) named Gustavia/Gustavier. Her daughter, Gustunn, became Neptune's second wife. Neptune was a dentist, a ferry operator, and worked in the McDaniel gin. He also worked on the steamboat, the Maude Howell. Their children were Minte, Zed, Pascal, Henry, Jesse, and Mirty. Neptune's son, Rob(ert) Grace left Alabama as well and settled at the Bend. He married Martha Simmons; they had four children. After Martha's death, he married Annie Gordon. Minte Grace married Don "John" Knighton of Cedar Grove and Hemphill, Texas (born 1 Jan 1887; son of Jerry Knighton and Samantha Simmons). They had 13 children.
