Tx Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Sabine?read=271 Surname: spights, speights, turner ------------------------- I am looking specifically for information about Tempe and John J Spi(e)ghts, parents of Rebecca Marinstia Spi(e)ghts (1960-1932), who married James Turner in 1883 in Texas. James and Tempe also had two sons, Azamor (bca1857) and Henry (bca1858), and the family was listed in Rapides Parish, LA, in 1860. Tempe Spi(e)ghts lived until around 1920; John was last seen during the Civil War, possible leaving to enlist, but maybe not. Grandpa remembers that he went to school with some of the Spe(i)ghts children at Hemphill, and that some were buried in the area; he said Granny Spe(i)ghts did not want to talk about any of the Speights family. I would welcome information on any of the Sabine county Speights or Spights families.
