    3. Dear Carnell & Wayne, I live in Sabine Co. and I'm taking your query to our county historian as soon as I can get up with her. (She's fast for her 80's). If anyone knows about these families, she will. When you talk to her, it's like she lived with all these people. She's written census, tax, will, geneology and no telling what else, so whe knows them all (if they were here for any length of time). Be patient, I'll be back. 1. [TXSABINE-L] WRIGHT
    2. I hope someone can tell me something about this Wright because I am at a dead in on A. John Wright. A. John Wright, Sr. [what the initial "A" stands for is unknown at the present, but it is probably Andrew]. According to the 1850 Troup County, Georgia Census. John Wright was a 41 year old shoemaker. His wife's name is unknown at this time, although a Sarah Wright, age 28, was listed in his household. Lloyd [Thomas] Wright, listed as 8 above, was included in the census as age 14. The Wrights listed here were close neighbors of the Hill Family where Rosa Jane Streeter was staying at the time. An A. J. Wright, Sr. was listed as living with Lloyd Thomas and Rosa Jane Streeter on the 1870 Sabine County, Texas census. He listed his age as 60 and the state of his birth as Alabama. I will appreciate any help Thanks Carnell

I am researching the Morrison's that are on my Granddad's side, have been looking for about 7-8 yrs for his parent's. There were two nice ladies that saw my post regarding my Granddad and furnished me info and I would like to pass it on to you and see if you recognize any of them. What I know for a fact is my Granddad Joshua C. Morrison b. 1863 St. Clair Co., Al d. 1942 Lincoln Co., Tenn. This is based on Marriage License, Census. Getting to his parents and siblings are a little unclear. But the following is the info that I have obtained: The 1850 Census Carroll Co., Ga Census list the following: James D. Morrison age 22 *Rutha Morrison age 20 * There is a comflict in the maiden name for Rutha one lady told me it was Saten and the Marriage book in Huntsville Library ( Ala) shows a Saten or Staten. However, this lady in Texas has info from a lady in Ashville (St. Clair Co.) Al. that her name was Layton or Leyton and found Leyton on the tax list in Carroll Co., Also, have found on the Tax List a James D. Morrison and it showed his middle name as Default. Would you think that is a computer error. The reason I am asking I notice there was a lot of names with Default and if that is not a error, that would mean his father or mothers people with the last name as Default and gaved James middle name as Default. Have been told a lot of families did that back then and some still do. Get back to my James D. When you find James D. again is on the 1860 St. Clair Co., Al Census listed from the Townships 14-15, Trout Creek Division, pg 40 house 346 , family 342. and it listed the following: Name Age POB Occupation James Morrison 38 Georgia Farmer Rutha Morrison 27 " William Morrison 9 " Amanda or Sara Morrison 7 " Jane Morrison 4 Ala James M. Morrison 2 " Pick them up again on the 1870 St. Clair Co., Al Census in District Broken Arrow pg. 32 house 6 family 6: ** Thomas Skinner 22 Ala ** Rutha Skinner 35 Ga William Morrison 18 " Amanda Sara Morrrison 17 " Jane Morrison 13 Ala James M. Morrison 11 " John B. Morrison 9 " **Joshua Morrison 7 " **The St. Clair County marriage records shows a marriage of a Thomas Skinner to a Rutha Morrison on 8 Nov 1866 with a Note added: This bride married before. There is also a entry that looks like Rutha Morrison was Thomas Skinner's guardian. Do not understand the entry will try to check out. **Also in 1876 a Thomas Skinner Sr marries a Ann Morrison ( A.J. Morrison daughter). Is this Thomas Skinner one in the same as above, and if so did he have a son also by the name of Thomas Skinner Jr with Rutha or what???????????? **Rutha maiden name is in dispute have had people say her maiden name is Saten and marriage book as the same, but there is a lady in Ashville Ala. she new the Morrison lineage and stated it was Layton or Leyton. Will have to verify. **This Joshua Morrison age 7 could be my Granddad, based on records that I have collected and seen. This could be the right age based on the marriage age of 19 in 1882 and others documentation. Also, if the Thomas Skinner is one in the same, and info states Rutha Skinner died sometime in 1874 or 1875. Also, this lady in Texas has info that Rutha and Thomas had a daughter and this daughter lived in Hunt Co., Tex and she is buried there. Also, the lady in Texas states of John Boyd Morrison marries a Minnie Mitchell and he was a preacher. In addition to the above there is a Samuel and Solomon Morrison that maybe brothers on the 1850 Carroll Co., Ga Census I was wondering are they connected and if anyone could be James D. Morrison father. One document has a Peter Morrison been his dad have not been able to verify. Would you mind taking a look at the above and see if we connect and would appreciate any info, since I have been looking for some 8 yrs. now Thanks for any help>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bob --part0_900139881_boundary--

    2. Please advise everyone that I have been under the weather for the last month or so and have not been ans my email. Trying to catch up. Please, excuse any latest on my part to all sent me msg's. I am researching a James D. Morrison b. 1822-28 in Georgia, not sure if he was borned in Carroll Co.,Ga or one of the counties. James middle name is Default and I notice there were alot of Default names in Carroll Co, Ga an wonder who James D. Morrison father or mother was since a lot of families would name their children after their folks and if anyone can help would appreciate it. Morrison that I am researching are: James D. Morrison wife Rutha Saten?? or Leyton that married in Carroll Co., Ga. like to verify if I can and any info would be greatly appreciated. Also, their children are as follows: William Morrison b. 1851 Carroll Co, Ga Sara Amada Morrison b. 1853 Jane Morrison b. about 1855 James Morrison John B. Morrison Joshua Morrison James and Rutha migrated to St. Clair Co., Ga sometime after 1853 but before 1855. Based on word of mouth James died sometime after Jan 1863, for Joshua Morrison ( Granddad) was borned abt Sep or Oct 1863 in St. Clair Co., and Rutha remarried a Thomas Skinner about 1867 and Rutha and him had a daughter, but sometimes befor 1875 Thomas married a Ann Morrison a daughter of A. J. Morrison. This Skinner in marriage books states he was a SR. Does anyone have any info that can say who this Skinner was ? If anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated. Bob

    3. Researching the lineage of Joshua C. Morrison, may Granddad which is my father's Columbus E. Morrison Dad. The following is what I have found as the results of some very very nice people on Mailing List on the Internet an by relatives, which was not very much. Like to advised the following may be very confusing, but, will make attempt to make it less confusing. 1. Joshua C. Morrison was borned abt Oct 1863 or 1864 in St. Clair Co., Al. It has been told by my parents that (Granddad) Joshua C. did not know his father was. Not sure how he died, but some think that he died in the Civil War after Jan 1863 or 64 or after Feb. Have been checking the Unit Rosters of Units that had men from St. Clair Co, Al. Have not been able to find out anything on James D. Morrison he would have been about 34-37 of age at the time. Lot of the Rosters on the Internet are not complete and does not list everyone that served. Information furnish by other individuals on rootsweb sites on the internet, census, Carroll Co, Ga, St. Clair Co, Al sites and Web sites in Texas. The information that has been obtained is as follows: a. Carroll Co, Ga marriage records and census shows or reveals. 1. James D. Morrison b. 1828 Ga d.after Feb 1863 have not been able to verify date of death or where he may be buried. The 1850 Carroll Co, Ga Census has James as 22, but the St. Clair Co, 1860 Census (James and Wife had 2 children borne in Ga prior to them moving in 1852 or early 53 to Carroll Co, Ga) has his age as 38 and if that is the case he would have been borne 1822 or 23. Do not know how to verify this!! Also the marriage of James D. was to a Rutha Suton or Layton not sure of the last name. Have info that shows both names. Due to car trouble was going to Carrollton, Ga to check this out, but cannot now. WOULD RE-IMBURSE ANYONE THAT HAPPENS TO BE IN CARROLLTON, GA AND CHECK THE ACTUAL CERTIFATE OR MARRIAGE LICENSE TO VERIFY HER NAME. 2. Based on the 1853 Carroll Co, Ga Tax List James D was still living in there, so they would have moved during that yr because their next child was borned in St. Clair Co, Al in 1853. 3. The Children for James D. and Rutha Morrison were taken from the 1860 and 1870 St Clair Co, Al Census. CHILDREN William Morrison b. abt 1851 POB. Ga ( Div II, Carroll Co, Ga) Amanda (Sarah) b. abt 1853 " " " " " " Jane b. abt 1856 " Al ( St. Clair Co, Al) James M. b. abt 1858 " " " " John B.(Byrd ??) b. 27 Aug 1860 ' " " " " Joshua C. b. abt Oct1863 or 64 " " " " " (My Granddad) 4. QUESTION IS: A William J. Morrison in St. Clair married M. J. Stone 19 Dec 1870. If anyone knows if this is the one in the same as the above William would appreciate the information. 5. The St. Clair Co, Al marriage book located in the Huntsville, Al Library has a Thomas Skinner age 22 marriage to a Rutha Morrison 8 Nov 1866 and the note in the book" Bride married before, consent of grooms guardian , Rutha Morrison." Does anyone know why they would put a note like that if the Rutha Morrison was going to marry Thomas Skinner and his guardian????? 6. The 1870 Census of St. Clair Co., Al has Rutha as a Skinner married to Thomas Skinner sometime in 1866 and all of James D. Morrison and Rutha's still living at home. Does anyone know if this Rutha is the one in same as the one married to James D. Morrison???? 7. It has been learn that Rutha Morrison died around 1875 and Thomas Skinner remarried to a Ann Morrison 5 Sep 1876. Does anyone make a connection to who Ann Morrison parents where??? 8. There is a Andrew Jack Morrison in Carroll Co, Ga that was in War of 1812. There is a Andrew J Morrison b. 1820-22 in Ga that everyone believes to be James D. Morrison brother. They both moved to St.Clair Co, Al after 1853. Does anyone think that this Andrew J. Morrison that was in the War of 1812 could be James and Andrew's dad???? 9. Wish to obtain any information on the above. Also, will reimburse anyone that may check the marriage Certificate or License in Carroll County Court House for me to verify Rutha's last name and age. James and Rutha were married 2 Nov 1848 in Carroll Co., Ga. 10. Any info on the above will be greatly appreciated, and the info that I have obtain from some wonder people has been a God send, since it seems as though I am the only one on in my Line that is doing any research on the Morrison Lineage. Thanks again>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.....Bob
