Here's what I've gotten so far: ( "*" means name and date came from Speights family Bible) Weldon William Speights (my father) 11-28-1911 to 11-13-1988 who's parents were Alvie Speights 10-1884 to "*" 12-27-1916 and Ida Mae Speights "*" 11-4-1892 to 1-22-1929. Had two other children "*" Lillie O. and Athana A. Speights who died as young children. After Alvie died, Ida Mae married Alvie's brother, John C. Speights "*" 4-5-1875 to 2-22-1962 and their child was Irene "Snooks" Speights/Jones. Irene married T.J. Jones and had 7 children: Donald (died Oct 1988, about 3 weeks before Irene) Jimmie Nixon Mary Jane married Joe Conn, she died about 5 yrs ago. John Thomas Patricia married Roger McBride Robert Karen Alvie's parents: Green W. Speights "*" 7-11-1839 to 10-24-1922 and Jerusha C. Allen born about 1852. Green W. and Jerusha I believe had 8 children: Lola B. Sudie B. Lillie A. John C. Della M. Madella C. Speights born about 1912 along with sister Irene to parents John C. & Ida Mae Speights. Records shared with me from Sharon Speights Varnes and other info show John C. Speights' parents to be Green W. Speights and Jerusha Caroline Allen. Green W.'s parents are William M. Speights, Jr. born January 23, 1787 VA died October 23, 1842 en route to TX from MS and buried on banks of Mississippi River. He was married December 17, 1817 to Rebecca Hopkins born about 1796 NC and died October 04, 1857. Jerusha Caroline Allen was born about 1845 and died before 1920. Jerusha & Green W. were married about 1867 according to Sabine Co, TX Marriages before 1875. I have a little more info on the ALLEN lines due to my DORSEY line tying in.

Only a few names are in it and there is no mention of the relationships. Example: G. W. Speights, born July 11, 1839, died Oct 24, 1922. Also John C. Speights born April 5, 1875, died Feb 22, 1962. Florence Elizabeth Page was born in Rosevine, Texas, Sabine County on 1 October, 1877. She married Stephen Austin Kerr. She died in childbirth on 21 September, 1921 in Rosevine. She and S.A. Kerr were my great-grandparents. I can give you names of their children, one of whom was my grandmother, if that would help. Do you know if Thomas and Ophelia might have been living in Bronson anytime during Florence's lifetime? Bronson figures heavily in lots of my Jones/Kerr/Page genealogy. Hi Melinda, Sophronia WHITE married Cannon Travis and had a Nancy Pauline TRAVIS (b. Sep 02 1852; d. Sep 26 1923, Sabine County, TX) who married Frederick M. CONNER (b. Jul 26 1846, Georgia; d. Oct 25 1887, Sabine County, TX). Frederick, or "Fed" CONNER was an older brother to my great grandfather, Charles Wilson CONNER. Fed CONNER was killed during the "Conner Feud" in Sabine County, Texas several months after his brother William (Bill) CONNER had also been shot and killed by the Rangers. Fed was killed during a battle with the Rangers and Sheriff A.J. Spradley when they were ambushed by the lawmen from an old shack in Sabine County while riding for supplies. During this gun battle, Fed allowed his father Willis CONNER to escape while he continued to fight the lawmen. The story is told how Fed shot a hinge off the door of the old shack while shooting at one of the lawmen who was peeking out of a crack. I've seen conflicting information about the parents of Edward White, and never any proof. Several Strickland researchers show Edward as being born in Mecklenberg, VA, and as the son of William White of Mecklenberg Co, Virginia and being born sometime ca 1776-1781. No proof though. I've also seen him listed as a son of Edward White and Pembrook Singleton of Gloucester County, VA as follows: Descendants of Edward White of Gloucester County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Jack Dickerson and Martha Russell. I have very little info on the Dickerson or Russell families. Love to hear from you.
