Carter, wife Nancy and two children and an adoptive son living in Robertson Co. Tx. I found a John H. Carter in the West Boone Cemtery that was born in 1827 and died in 1884 and assume that this is the same person as the one on the census. My interest is the adoptive son who I believe is William Thomas Hereford/Hafford. William was the son of Lorenzo Dow Hereford and Sarah Copeland. Both of them died when William was very young and was supposedly raised by a Mrs. Carter. If anyone knows anything about this Carter family would you please get in touch with me.
