    1. [TX ROBERTSON] Re: O'Rear & Patrick Family
    2. I just found your posting of 1/1/01 regarding the Patrick/O'Rear families. Ada O'Rear was my grandmother(1881-1968).She married William Oscar Cobb in New Baden in 1901. They moved to Childress County @1908. My mother, Maurine Cobb Brown(1906-1981)was the 2nd of their six children and only girl. Ada's brother, William Patrick O'Rear, died about the age of ten of appendicitis.According to my grandmother, they dug his grave by what they thought was his mother's grave, but found men's buttons in the earth. Her mother's grave was evidently unmarked and had been lost. The cemetery was in Wheelock but I don't know where. My grandmother's mother, Frances Burton Patrick, died in 1883. I have a photo of her and one of her husband,Robert O'Rear and will be happy to send copies if you are interested. My grandmother did not like her stepmother. When her inheritance from her mother came, her stepmother divided it among her children from the stepmother's former marriage as well as to the chi! ldren of F. Patrick. I also have a group picture of the 3rd Mrs. O'Rear,my grandmother Ada O'Rear Cobb, and others I can send. The info you posted is a help to me because my gmother did not have too much knowledge of her mother's people. I do have her mother F B Patrick's tintype album which I treasure. Is was the only thing of her mother's that my grandmother had. I will be glad to share any other infomation that I have. Frances Duey
