As I said before,I never knew much about granddad,except what mom told me.I dont remember her saying anything about him having a sister,or any other family.But that dont mean he didnt have any-I just dont remember .She did say he said "by gum"a lot& talked about the mountains a lot-how pretty they looked. I looked up Newton Co,sensus 1850 & these grays were listed...Aranetta,Elizabeth M.,Louidia,Lyda M.,Mary Ann,Mellisa Jane,& a W.M.. No,Joan Elwell Is not my sister,she is g.grandaughter J.W.Gray,& Minnie Lee(Whitley) Gray.You& I are cousins,Joan is also cousin to us.Joan is about 40 I guess . Her moms name was Emery Fae Byrd(maiden name) .Emery Faes mom(Bleulah)was a daughter of J.W. & Minnie Gray.
