Dear Fellow Researchers: My wife and I are planning a trip to Franklin, Texas in early January. We want to visit her great-grandmother's (Ella Givens Dawson, 1858-1901) grave at the Franklin Cemetery. Apparently there are 1300 graves there. Does anybody know of a resource to locate the exact location of the grave within the cemetery? Thanks, Conway Jones

I do not have a cemetery map, but I can tell you that it is a very nice one that has many markers. I have several relatives buried there, including by ggfather and ggmother. It is on the south end of town. Incidentally, there is another large cemetery at the split in the road where Owensville was located. The Owensville cemetery is about 4 miles north of Franklin. Within that cemetery is a smaller fenced in cemetery where my father's parents and a few other Grant's are buried. Not far from there is a spot along the road where the old homestead once stood that was called Grants Prairie (no signage, but folks know where it is). Allen Grant I don't know it until I know it.
